I have a rather sentimental bond to this show. I first saw it right after my husband returned from Afghanistan. He had a lot of the same military reactions when he returned that Sousuke has ingrained in his personality. The episode where he is in Afghanistan and Kaname wanders the beach alone really, really hit home for me.
